Job Summary
The Ultrasound Tech performs diagnostic ultrasound procedures and provides high quality care for patients of all ages
from neonatal to geriatric. Works in a fast-paced, rapidly growing environment with reliance on your expertise,
professionalism and collaboration. Produces diagnostic ultrasound images in accordance with department scanning
protocols under the general supervision of a Radiologist. Interacts with patients, physicians and staff in a professional
and friendly manner.

Satisfactory completion of an accredited Sonography program.

Additional Certification/Licensure Requirements
Additional RDMS certification in which the department is accredited by the American College of Radiology (ACR) in
accordance with the accrediting body’s guidelines.
* New hires must have American Heart Association (AHA) appropriate certification prior to completion of orientation.
Qualifications
Knowledge of human anatomy and physiology for accurate medical diagnosis as associated with ultrasound.
Competence in performing all types of general ultrasound procedures and services.
Ability to effectively operate all equipment utilized within the scope of a sonographer.
Accountability and attention to detail in the performance of duties.
Friendly and professional demeanor.

Work Function/Activity : Sedentary to Medium Physical Demand (10 to 50 lbs) • Frequent hand washing required. •

electronic imaging, computers, x-ray development, chemicals, light screens for viewing x-ray images, office and record-
keeping equipment. • Mental activities necessary include technical problem solving, interpretation, computing,
organizational and communication skills.
